As a performer, Grace travels across the country to perform. She is proficient on multiple instruments, and has Grade 8 Trumpet and Piano. Grace also enjoys performing in lots of different settings, from jazz, to classical, pop to musical theatre and even anything acting related as an actor-musician. Grace is also a keen improviser and arranger.
As a tutor, Grace can teach brass, piano, keyboard, voice, violin, as well as Theory and Aural. She currently works as both a tutor for music services and schools, such as Lancashire Music Service, but also regularly as a private tutor. Lessons are taught at Grace’s home, the students home (travel permitting) and also online, so there is no barrier to learning with Grace. Grace works with the student to organise and run lessons, and has achieved high results of Merits and Distinctions in ABRSM and Trinity Exams her students have entered. She is kind, patient and friendly and will provide a high-quality lesson that is tailored to your needs!
Grace also works across the North West as a Outreach and Workshop Leader, where she visits local schools, colleges and community groups to perform workshops into music. These are primarily for brass, and include the P-Buzz – a lightweight, accessible plastic brass instrument. Through Grace’s sessions, students learn how to make sounds on the instruments, read music, and perform along to famous pieces of music, cumulating in a final performance in front of their peers. Many students who have taken part in Grace’s workshops have continued onto learn with Grace 1-1 and joined one of the band’s Grace leads.
Grace is also an established Musical Director, both in Musical Theatre and in Youth Groups. Through MT, Grace enjoys leading groups with vocal exercises and leading pit bands. Grace is currently Musical Director for D&S Productions and in 2025, she was nominated for a NODA award for her Musical Direction of ‘Everybody’s Talking About Jamie’. She is also a dep across the North West Am Dram scene, and often comes to perform keys or brass in local shows.
For Youth Bands, Grace is the Musical Director for the Kearsley Youth Brass Band and the Cadishead Brass Band. These musical groups both aim to spread the joy of music-making across the community, and players meet once a week to practise at their instruments and improve pieces ready for a concert or event. Both KYBB and CPB are always looking for new players, particularly beginners, who fancy learning a brass instrument, and free tuition and instruments are provided to get them set off.
